A few weeks ago my Levi turned one. It was so exciting but sad at the same time. How can a year possibly go that fast!? I was on vacation from work for the week and we had a great time together. He is a busy boy for sure! Then Tim took a few days off for a nice long weekend. We went shopping and out to lunch. Then Saturday the 24th we had his party. It turned out to be a decent day (weatherwise not like the 60- 70 degree days we've been having in the last week but it was nice.
My dear friend Rachel made a beautiful Train cake. It even had his picture in the engine car as the conductor! It had cars with malted candy balls to represent the limestone and crushed oreos for coal ( where Tim works they have limestone and coal mines) Rachel's husband also works there. IT was a beauty of a cake. We had lots of food and fun and of course he was showered with gifts unimaginable. He is so loved and for that I am forever grateful.
It was a long day. He stayed awake for his whole party. He loved the cake. He was so cute and messy. But hey that's what you're supposed to do. He's really been enjoying playing with all his new toys. He loves all of them but it cracks me up to watch him play with his ride on train. It's battery operated and he knows just where those buttons are to make the whistle sound and to make it go. I just need to get him to understand you can't just push it across the floor. I don't want him to break it. He also loves Scout the Dog. You can program a name and what your child likes into him and the toy interacts. Oh he just lights up from ear to ear when that dog says.... I love you Levi. So Cute. He looks at me like... mommy that doggie knows my name!!
In the past week he has conquered being upright and walking. He is getting better, and faster by the day. Little Frankenstein, no more. He stumbles and falls quite a bit still but he's got the hang of it. I love to watch him mosey down the hallway and peek in the door at me.
ANd just last night before bed Emma our cat walked by and I said who is that? And he goes Emma. Proud momma moment. I have such a smart little boy. I know everyone thinks their kid(s) are smart and the best and they are all wonderful, ever single child. But I can't believe how much they really do comprehend and learn so quickly at such a young age. I have said that I lost my brain when I got pregnant and throughout the process became kinda dumb.... like I've lost my mind. But I know where it went. To the smartest little man I know. And that's ok. He can keep it. :)
