Ok I must get better at this. Priorities.....LOL!
So it's July 8, 2009! HUge developements going on lately. Levi is up on all fours rockin' and a rolling--- he's going to take off like a maniac soon. It's so amazing to see him get stronger and more confident? every day. Like he wakes up thinking oh-- let's see what we can get into?? Oh the life of a baby! Wouldn't you love to know what they were thinking? I sure would.
Monday we went to have some pictures taken. Oh that was a fun experience. My bubbly happy little cherub that ALWAYS has a smile for everyone put on this serious face and was NOT letting anyone break it! HA! So funny! He's usually a ham in front of the camera too-- but those flash bulbs were a little bigger than mommy (and Aunt Cami's) camera! No matter what I think they got some great shots. I can't wait to see them!!
Another milestone Monday was Mamamamamama. Oh yes that's right. Mama is the word of the day. So proud.. little tear. I guess that I should be jumping for joy-- but it's the beginning of MOM!! MOM!! MMMMMOOOOMMMM! too funny! In that case, why couldn't he have said DADADA!hehe.
WE've been spending time at the country club, swimming and playing in the sand. He loves it and I get some sun. I know pale is the new tan but that sooo does not look good on me. ;) I bought him a float yesterday to use in the water- obviously I am standing right there and of course I have ahold of him but he is such a wiggle worm. And likes to float and kick-- a true water baby! We tried out a float at a friend's house and he loved it so figured we'd get the use out of it. Weather seems to finally be cooperating. It has been a weird summer so far. Not too hot- actually kinda chilly sometimes. Don't understand that. But oh well. Can't control it.
Well, I guess I should go for now. I gotta get busy around here and then off to work later on. I will write again soon. And get some new pics up. I promise!

Can someone tell me how it became June 1st??
I don't know how it can be but... this year is half over. My lil man is going on 8 months old. Where does the time go?
I have completed a few daunting tasks lately. First and foremost, I gathered three months of memory cards and picture cd's.... and headed to the photo lab. When I was finished I had dprinted upwards of 250 pictures. not bad for being about 3.5 months behind. Then I started putting them in order for his album. Got that all done and realized I'm only missing maybe a week of pictures.... errrr. Now I have to find that cd. Back to the photo lab. Cami (my sister is going to hate me. Good thing I know how to work the machines and can do most of the work on my own :)
Levi's doing awesome. As of his 6 month check up he was 23.2 pounds and 30 1/2 inches long. My little chunk is wearing 12- 18 month clothes. He's growing so fast.
He has 2 teeth now on the bottom. He's now sitting up like a pro and when he wobbles over he picks his head up so it doesn't thump... so funny how they learn these things. NO crawling yet. Last week he was pushing up on his tiptoes -- sticking his butt up in the air... now this week he's got his knees up underneath him- pushing up on those but the top part is still low. But he's getting there. I'd rather not rush mobilization yet! LOL! It'll happen before we know it. I moved the settings once again on his bouncer--- to the highest one. I look at pictures of when he started in it and he just kinda sat there. Now he's a wild man!
He is so rough on everything. Loves to bang his toys together and send his toys carreening off the highchair tray at high speed! Must be a boy thing.. and just like his dad! I joke Tim's tough on equipment too....:) He's a roller over and over and over. But he loves to stand more than anything else. it wouldn't surprise me if he skipped crawling and went right to walking... hell, maybe running!
A few other things he enjoys: seeing his reflection in the mirror he just cracks up!
He loves looking and touching his waterglobe that Tim and I got him for Christmas. Every time we change clothes or diaper change he cranes his neck to look at it on the shelf. Then we go over afterwards and he ohhhhs and aahhhhs and touches it. His piggy bank is also on the same shelf and I say where's the piggy and oink and he giggles! Oh I love it! He is so much fun!
He's taking baths in the big tub and splashes like it's Sea World. :) loves sucking and chewing on the washclothes.... not too fond of that but it makes him happy. So we will compromise-- just not the one I'm washing him with.
Well, I guess I better go. Gotta work tomorrow. I'm going to try to post some pics soon. Talk to you later.

quick update
I feel like a total slacker.
Levi is playing on the floor right now. He's getting more and more "mobile" by rolling quickly across the blanket across the room.... A glimpse of the fast mover he will soon become. Sitting has given him a new view of things but still he's a bit of a wobble butt.
I've only taken 2 pictures this entire week and am so annoyed about it! I can't believe I've been so busy that I've neglected that. But in the big picture I haven't developed any in the last what 3 months!!?? Ok that puts it into perspective. I let things like this worry me, I do. I'm going to do better this week.
I'm really looking forward to my first Mother's Day. (Hopefully a photo op will present itself with the 2 of us) I have always been the picture taker-- I need to work on Tim a bit on taking them. I try to wait for the right shot and he just snaps away--- once again-- a patience and time issue.
SO I promise to get on here and post again soon.

Making memories
I've noticed so many things happening in the last few days. It's absolutely amazing what a few days of sunshine bring. For example:
The buds on the trees are "hatching" into little green leaves.
I walk out the door at the house and smell the beautiful fragrance of hyacinths. My favorite spring flower-- next are the lilacs, which are budding wildly too.
Yesterday I attended a bridal shower and for the first time sat and tried to pay attention as I was now a "mommy" and not a mommy wannabe. It was a beautiful shower and was so thankful for the life I have as wife and mom. It's good to see people fall in love, stay in love, and do things the old fashioned way.
On the way home as dear Levi slept peacefully, the breeze in the sunroof of my car I smelled the delicious scent of fresh mowed grass. A true sign that summer is approaching. Seeing the splashes of color in people's flowerbeds made me smile.
I don't know, maybe it's strange that I notice these things at all. But I try every season to take it all in. I notice the changes in order to appreciate how quickly things change and pass by.
I'm excited to see the nice weather hang around.
Now on to the changes I've noticed in my little man. I love him sooo much. He will be six months old in a few days and has entered a new phase- interactive and Mr. Social. His smiles light up his whole face and I love that gummy, drooly grin.
He's started squealing and it's adorable. When he gets going he sounds like a little dolphin. A strange comparison but cute.
He loves pulling his feet up in his hands and rolling back and forth from side to side. I don't know if they(his feet) will make it to his mouth- his legs seem too long and his belly in the way. I can't talk much I know I couldn't even begin to attempt that move.
He is such a good eater. He hasn't found anything he doesn't like. As soon as he gets in his highchair, he knows what's next.... food. He looks longingly at his bottle while he eats his food.... soon I will have that.
I don't know what I did to deserve such a perfect little boy. I cried and tried so long for this darling and now he's here and I don't know what I'd done before. How I'd lived without him. He fills my entire heart everytime I look at him. I'm eternally grateful for him coming into our life.
AS much as I don't want to rush the time more than it's already going, I look forward to watching him feel the grass on his feet and sand between his toes. To see him chase waves someday on the beach. Come to the door for lunch covered in mud and a smile. Help Grandpa stack firewood and hammer nails. Because where I'm from there was always fun in the work we did. Oh the memories.
