Ok I sit here quietly while Levi is napping and think what should I be doing? Millions of thing rattle through my head and the one that sticks is- I haven't sent an email / photo update of Levi since Christmas and this is March. I haven't updated my blog in um, ok we won't go there because now I'm embarrassed. For anyone that does get my email update... yes this is cut and pasted from that.I figure for now it's the best I can do. Hopefully I won't let another 5 months pass before a real post. I will try my best.
So today we went for Levi's 15 month check up. He is actually about 16 1/2 months old so we are a little behind, however he is right on track. Weight 29 pounds ( I would've thought more by how much he seems to weigh after carrying him for a bit) and height at 35 1/2 inches. My estimate going in was 3 feet so just shy of that. He is so tall.
He's getting around mighty well these days by walking, running, spinning, climbing, kicking and dancing. No jumping yet, whew. Not really saying too many words that are recognizable. Mama, Dada, toot toot, boom, moo, and what I believe to be Emma (the cat) Points to his features like hair, ear, nose, belly. Also does the what does a monkey say? A cow? kitty cat? maing the appropriate noises. And oh how playing with hats and removing socks amuse him. Oh, the little things.
Loves going places and visiting everyone. Favorite book is good Night Gorilla, we read it every night before bed. Then he snuggles with his woofy, a stuffed wolf toy won by Aunt Carli at the county fair last year. :) He can be very generous or quite stingy with the kisses and hugs depending on the mood, but when it strikes rounds of kisses and hugs to all around. So cute.
He loves to look at the computer, trys to play on it but we limit that (since it's mommy's toy :) And he loves music. I joke that he's got a Michael Jackson gene from somewhere cause he got the rhythm and loves to dance.
It's sure to be a lot of interesting fun as the weather decides to straighten up and act more like the spring we've been waiting for. I can't wait to get outside and I'm sure I won't be the only one enjoying it. Hope everyone is well. Talk soon, take care!

My baby isn't a baby anymore.
A few weeks ago my Levi turned one. It was so exciting but sad at the same time. How can a year possibly go that fast!? I was on vacation from work for the week and we had a great time together. He is a busy boy for sure! Then Tim took a few days off for a nice long weekend. We went shopping and out to lunch. Then Saturday the 24th we had his party. It turned out to be a decent day (weatherwise not like the 60- 70 degree days we've been having in the last week but it was nice.
My dear friend Rachel made a beautiful Train cake. It even had his picture in the engine car as the conductor! It had cars with malted candy balls to represent the limestone and crushed oreos for coal ( where Tim works they have limestone and coal mines) Rachel's husband also works there. IT was a beauty of a cake. We had lots of food and fun and of course he was showered with gifts unimaginable. He is so loved and for that I am forever grateful.
It was a long day. He stayed awake for his whole party. He loved the cake. He was so cute and messy. But hey that's what you're supposed to do. He's really been enjoying playing with all his new toys. He loves all of them but it cracks me up to watch him play with his ride on train. It's battery operated and he knows just where those buttons are to make the whistle sound and to make it go. I just need to get him to understand you can't just push it across the floor. I don't want him to break it. He also loves Scout the Dog. You can program a name and what your child likes into him and the toy interacts. Oh he just lights up from ear to ear when that dog says.... I love you Levi. So Cute. He looks at me like... mommy that doggie knows my name!!
In the past week he has conquered being upright and walking. He is getting better, and faster by the day. Little Frankenstein, no more. He stumbles and falls quite a bit still but he's got the hang of it. I love to watch him mosey down the hallway and peek in the door at me.
ANd just last night before bed Emma our cat walked by and I said who is that? And he goes Emma. Proud momma moment. I have such a smart little boy. I know everyone thinks their kid(s) are smart and the best and they are all wonderful, ever single child. But I can't believe how much they really do comprehend and learn so quickly at such a young age. I have said that I lost my brain when I got pregnant and throughout the process became kinda dumb.... like I've lost my mind. But I know where it went. To the smartest little man I know. And that's ok. He can keep it. :)

OK I've had it with myself.
I should just give up on this process because I can not manage to get here and write anything. Yesterday Levi was 11 months old. He is growing so fast. He;s not walking yet but standing alone by himself and cruising very well. He loves looking out the windows, watching cars and trucks go down the road.
But his favorite activity lately is definitely riding on the put- put (tractor) with Grandpa. He gets so excited as soon as he hears it start up and then he's kicking and squirming out of your arms to get to it. Then he jst sits like a big boy and rides along. So cute. Then the fact that Grandpa has a horn on every tractor to make it toot toot. And Levi is so smart- he knows exactly where that button is. He also likes to sit on the seat and move the wheel like he's driving. All this while the tractor is not running and parked of course. He is so funny.
HE loves to push his little toys around- walking behind them or on his knees. We recently changed the batteries in a ride on toy and discovered that it has a little fire truck siren. Oh he loves that. I however could have lived without it... where did those old batteries go??hmmmm.
We are planning his birthday party for Oct 24th. Tim and I are taking some time off that week to spend together and reminisce. Amazing where the time has gone. It never went this fast for anything else in my life and this by far is the most important. I want to remember every moment. Which ok... maybe that is one excuse I could use that I don't get on here posting very often. That and the fact I'm working and this is cold and flu season so the pharmacy is mad like wildfire. Thank goodness only minor colds for us so far. I hate being sick and would hate for Levi to feel like that even more.
So at his last checkup- @ 10 months he weighed 26 pounds and 6 ounces. And was 32 1/4 inches long. So in ten months he had grown ten inches??? Unbelievable! I can def. see and tell it though... I mean the child is wearing 18 -24 months clothing now. Crazy!!
We are going Saturday for his 3rd (yes, you read that right 3rd! haircut. It is so long , unruly and super curly!! I am sad to see those curls go but he looks so much better with a haircut. Sadly older too. Like a little man, no longer a baby.
And for Halloween, he was going to be a little monkey-- but .... then he got two little fang teeth. Not the fronts as we expected but the pointy ones beside those. So he is going to be a little vampire. Which I was having trouble finding a coustume for .... and since I just mentioned his haircut..... I can use the little cape we bought him for his haircuts as his costume.... perfect. That's all I really needed anyways. Perfect we're set. I can't wait!!
I will definitely try to post pictures soon. Sorry I haven't been able to do that. This computer is so slow. They should change this that you can upload directly to here-- like make a photo album option. That would be great! Ok talk soonm, at least that's my plan :)

my attempt at loading pics this way...
ok didn't work out as planned.... I will post soon. I thought I could just attach the link-- but not that didn't work. see I need to learn more about this.
July?? Are you kidding me??
Ok I must get better at this. Priorities.....LOL!
So it's July 8, 2009! HUge developements going on lately. Levi is up on all fours rockin' and a rolling--- he's going to take off like a maniac soon. It's so amazing to see him get stronger and more confident? every day. Like he wakes up thinking oh-- let's see what we can get into?? Oh the life of a baby! Wouldn't you love to know what they were thinking? I sure would.
Monday we went to have some pictures taken. Oh that was a fun experience. My bubbly happy little cherub that ALWAYS has a smile for everyone put on this serious face and was NOT letting anyone break it! HA! So funny! He's usually a ham in front of the camera too-- but those flash bulbs were a little bigger than mommy (and Aunt Cami's) camera! No matter what I think they got some great shots. I can't wait to see them!!
Another milestone Monday was Mamamamamama. Oh yes that's right. Mama is the word of the day. So proud.. little tear. I guess that I should be jumping for joy-- but it's the beginning of MOM!! MOM!! MMMMMOOOOMMMM! too funny! In that case, why couldn't he have said DADADA!hehe.
WE've been spending time at the country club, swimming and playing in the sand. He loves it and I get some sun. I know pale is the new tan but that sooo does not look good on me. ;) I bought him a float yesterday to use in the water- obviously I am standing right there and of course I have ahold of him but he is such a wiggle worm. And likes to float and kick-- a true water baby! We tried out a float at a friend's house and he loved it so figured we'd get the use out of it. Weather seems to finally be cooperating. It has been a weird summer so far. Not too hot- actually kinda chilly sometimes. Don't understand that. But oh well. Can't control it.
Well, I guess I should go for now. I gotta get busy around here and then off to work later on. I will write again soon. And get some new pics up. I promise!

Can someone tell me how it became June 1st??
I don't know how it can be but... this year is half over. My lil man is going on 8 months old. Where does the time go?
I have completed a few daunting tasks lately. First and foremost, I gathered three months of memory cards and picture cd's.... and headed to the photo lab. When I was finished I had dprinted upwards of 250 pictures. not bad for being about 3.5 months behind. Then I started putting them in order for his album. Got that all done and realized I'm only missing maybe a week of pictures.... errrr. Now I have to find that cd. Back to the photo lab. Cami (my sister is going to hate me. Good thing I know how to work the machines and can do most of the work on my own :)
Levi's doing awesome. As of his 6 month check up he was 23.2 pounds and 30 1/2 inches long. My little chunk is wearing 12- 18 month clothes. He's growing so fast.
He has 2 teeth now on the bottom. He's now sitting up like a pro and when he wobbles over he picks his head up so it doesn't thump... so funny how they learn these things. NO crawling yet. Last week he was pushing up on his tiptoes -- sticking his butt up in the air... now this week he's got his knees up underneath him- pushing up on those but the top part is still low. But he's getting there. I'd rather not rush mobilization yet! LOL! It'll happen before we know it. I moved the settings once again on his bouncer--- to the highest one. I look at pictures of when he started in it and he just kinda sat there. Now he's a wild man!
He is so rough on everything. Loves to bang his toys together and send his toys carreening off the highchair tray at high speed! Must be a boy thing.. and just like his dad! I joke Tim's tough on equipment too....:) He's a roller over and over and over. But he loves to stand more than anything else. it wouldn't surprise me if he skipped crawling and went right to walking... hell, maybe running!
A few other things he enjoys: seeing his reflection in the mirror he just cracks up!
He loves looking and touching his waterglobe that Tim and I got him for Christmas. Every time we change clothes or diaper change he cranes his neck to look at it on the shelf. Then we go over afterwards and he ohhhhs and aahhhhs and touches it. His piggy bank is also on the same shelf and I say where's the piggy and oink and he giggles! Oh I love it! He is so much fun!
He's taking baths in the big tub and splashes like it's Sea World. :) loves sucking and chewing on the washclothes.... not too fond of that but it makes him happy. So we will compromise-- just not the one I'm washing him with.
Well, I guess I better go. Gotta work tomorrow. I'm going to try to post some pics soon. Talk to you later.
